ADANNA AND DAVID'S ROMANTIC PROPOSAL

I am a sucker for interracial couples and i love beautiful love stories just as i know you do too. When i read about this cute couple, i could not resist sharing the story with you.

By the way, the bride is Nigerian. Her father is the former governor Ikedi Ohakim of Imo state Nigeria. David and Adanna had their Nigerian traditional wedding at her hometown Mbano Imo state on the 28th of december 2013. The bride is also a twin. And they are very identical. So you see i and Adanna have a lot in common, i am in an interracial marriage and also have an identical twin sister.
Enjoy

From the Bride:
I got engaged on Dec 1st 2012, it was our 15-month anniversary. David had asked a few friends to make sure I was out of the house (he didn’t tell them he was going to propose, it was a secret he kept all to himself). They sent me a text inviting me out and I had said to David “Babe I’m going to lie with your name, I’m really not up for going out”. As contradictory as this may be to his plans, David convinced me to go with them. I was quite shocked he didn’t support my idea but I did go out. They stalled me as much as they could and I’m guessing when they received a signal from David, they decided it was time for me to go home.

I went upstairs and I saw David standing in the front of the apartment in an apron, he had cooked dinner. He kissed me and gave a romantic speech and reminded me that it was our anniversary haha (I had forgotten). I was so happy but I still didn’t suspect anything. He then said “I’m going to go into the apartment now, I want you to come in and meet me in the living room”. I opened the door and ..my oh my..!! Our best song was playing (Scotty McCreery – I love you this big), the lights were down, candles on both sides, petals on both sides, pictures of our relationship blown up and hung on both walls of the hall way. It was magic I tell you. I walked into the living room, David took my hands and walked me down a red carpet he had made and led me to sit down. He gave a speech (we often joke that I can’t remember anything he said) and then got down on “both” knees (I still mock him for getting down on both knees, but he insists it signifies extra loyalty and commitment lol). David proceeded to grab a box from his back pocket, but oops the box was stuck. I had suspected what was going on at this point so I started screaming, “What are you doing? You’re crazy, What are you doing??” haha. He finally got the box out and opened it and I remember him saying “I would love to spend the rest of my life with you”. I started crying and screaming and mumbling “Omg I can’t believe this” Forgetting that I hadn’t given a response, David pulled on my hands and said “Babe, I think this is the point where you say yes?” ..and I screamed a BIG YESSSS!!!!!Congrats Adanna and David!

Supermodel Tyra Banks engaged in some very public displays of affection with her new beau Erik Asla

She's in love and isn't afraid to show it.

The loving couple shared a romantic kiss while having lunch at Pearl's Liquor Bar in West Hollywood on Friday.

The 40-year-old beauty cuddled up next to her striking lover in the restaurant's balcony when they both leaned in for a passionate lip lock.

The couple canoodled in a corner as Erik listened tentatively while his gorgeous girlfriend whispered into his ear.

After their intimate meal, the dynamic duo were spotted in great spirits as they walked around Los Angeles together.
The 40-year-old supermodel reportedly met her new beau while working on Norway's edition of America's Next Top Model

While they were first spotted together last summer, Tyra only recently confirmed her romance with her blonde main man.

But the TV host and her fashion and fine art photographer beau looked quite smitten with each other, as they headed out for a stroll after their meal.

The doting duo could hardly stop smiling as they strutted down Sunset Boulevard, following their PDA-packed afternoon.

The two-time Sports Illustrated cover model appeared casual yet chic in a cropped black puffy jacket, printed white T-shirt, and skinny, leather and suede ankle-length trousers.

Putting comfort first, she teamed the pieces with a pair of hip black kicks and opted to carry a small Louis Vuitton bag instead of a massive purse.

Meanwhile, Tyra let her long brunette locks flow in loose curls, covering them up with a taupe beanie hat.

And as a natural beauty, the America's Next Top Model judge appeared to be wearing minimal make-up but made sure or brighten up her complexion with some blush.

Budding romance: Tyra only recently confirmed the news in January

Last month, Tyra confirmed that a sequel to Disney's television movie Life-Size is currently in development.

But the star kept mum on whether co-star Lindsay Lohan will reprise her role in the updated version of the 2000 cult hit.

Despite the confirmation of the film, Tyra didn't go into specifics.
Certainly not bored! The doting duo sure looked like they had a lot to talk about during their stroll

'I can't [tell you anything] unfortunately,' she said. 'I'm under contract with Disney and I can't talk about it at all, except that it's coming. But it will be very different, very different. Very modern - a modern take.'

The television personality said the film would likely be released next year.

'I don't think it'll be out until probably 2015, but I'm guessing - it could be late 2014 or 2015. But it will be back - Life-Size will be back, better than ever.'
Always stylish: Even though she was dressed down, Tyra made a statement in her leather and suede trousers
Not shy: The America's Next Top Model judge didn't appear to be phased by photographers

The black Barbie

Entrepreneur Taofick Okoya in his Lagos workshop, where he makes dolls dressed in local attire.

With a booming economy in Nigeria and more black children than anywhere else in the world, Taofick Okoya was dismayed when he could not find a black doll for his niece.

The 43-year-old spotted a gap in the market and, with little competition from foreign firms such as Mattel Inc, the maker of Barbie, he set up his own business. He outsourced manufacturing of doll parts to low-cost China, assembled them onshore and added a twist – traditional Nigerian costumes.

Seven years on, Okoya sells between 6,000 and 9,000 of his Queens of Africa and Naija Princesses a month, and reckons he has 10-15% of a small but fast-growing market.

"I like it," says Ifunanya Odiah, five, struggling to contain her excitement as she inspects one of Okoya's dolls in a Lagos shopping mall. "It's black, like me."

While multinational companies are flocking to African markets, Okoya's experience suggests that, in some areas at least, there is still an opportunity for domestic businesses to establish themselves by using local knowledge to tap a growing, diverse and increasingly sophisticated middle class.

There's no doubt about Nigeria's economic potential. Economist Jim O'Neill has this year popularised it as one of the Mint countries – alongside Mexico, Indonesia and Turkey – that he sees as successors to the first wave of emerging markets he dubbed the Brics (Brazil, Russia and India and China).
The dolls represent Nigeria’s three largest ethnic groups – Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba

With about 170 million people, Nigeria is Africa's most populous country by far, and its economy is growing at about 7%, vying with South Africa as the continent's largest.

Several multinational firms have been on the continent for years. Drinks group Diageo, for example, sells more Guinness in Nigeria than in the beer's traditional home market of Ireland; South African grocer Shoprite has seven profitable stores in Nigeria and plans to roll out hundreds.

While western economies struggle, the appeal of emerging markets for toymakers is clear. Between 2006 and 2011, developed countries saw toy sales grow just 1% a year, versus 13% in emerging markets, according to Euromonitor data. But in Nigeria, basic goods aside, consumerism is in its infancy, creating opportunities for entrepreneurs.

"When it comes to sectors like spirits or beer, or even cement, all the international players are already there," says Andy Gboka, London-based equity analyst at Exotix LLP Partners. "Other sectors, such as toys or less-developed industries, provide a huge potential for local companies."

Mattel, the world's largest toy company, has been selling black dolls for decades, but says its presence in sub-Saharan Africa is "very limited". The firm does not have any plans for expansion into this region to share, according to a spokesman, Alan Hilowitz.

There are good reasons for foreign companies to be cautious. While Nigeria sees thousands of births every day, two-thirds of children are born into families unable to afford anything in most toy shops.

Multinationals also cite poor infrastructure and corrupt port authorities as reasons for steering clear. South Africa's Woolworths pulled out of Nigeria last year, citing supply chain problems, though analysts said it also misread the local clothes market.
The dolls retail for between 1,300 Nigerian naira to 3,500 for the special edition variety

The longer companies such as Mattel wait, however, the more time Okoya has to build his business and shape consumer tastes.

At a small factory in Lagos's Surulere suburb, his workers stitch brightly patterned west African fabrics into miniature dresses and geles – traditional headgear.

Nigeria's three largest ethnic groups of Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba are represented in the Queens of Africa range, highlighting the growing sophistication of consumers – and the need to tailor products to local tastes.

The dolls sell for between 1,300 Nigerian naira to the special edition 3,500 naira ($22), while cheaper Naija Princesses sell for 500-1,000 naira apiece. Okoya makes a profit margin of about a third, and as well as selling at home, is increasingly shipping to the US and Europe.

He plans dolls from other African ethnic groups, and is in talks with South Africa's Game, owned by Massmart, part of Wal-Mart, to sell to 70 shops across Africa.

Like Barbies, Okoya's dolls are slim, despite the fact that much of Africa abhors the western ideal of stick-thin models. Okoya says his early templates were larger bodied, and the kids did not like them.

But he hopes to change that. "For now, we have to hide behind the 'normal' doll. Once we've built the brand, we can make dolls with bigger bodies."

Rehab: Karrueche Supports Chris Brown In Court As He Narrowly Escapes Doing Hard Time (PHOTOS)

Chris Brownand his lady Karrueche Tran were spotted making their way inside the criminal court in downtown L.A. yesterday–and they weren’t alone.Cee-Lo Green was also photographed headed into the courthouse, but unfortunately he wasn’t there to show his support for Breezy. The Voice host made his way to the fifth floor for a routine hearing in his felony drug case.
But back to Brown. According toTMZ, yesterday was Breezy’s lucky day. The singer could have gone straight to jail if prosecutors had gotten their way.
Chris appeared before a judge to discuss his alleged assault in Washington D.C., in which Brown is accused of having beat up an innocent bystander last October. The judge overseeing the case has dealt with Chris before. In fact, this is the same judge that ruled in the 24-year-old’sprevious assault case, during which he was found guilty of hitting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Prosecutors in the case asked that Brown be thrown in jail immediately and requested a probation violation hearing be set. They claim“Brown’s violent behavior continues to increase in severity and frequency”and he is“an increasing danger to society,”according to TMZ.
The D.A. says they have reviewed the case and have probable cause to believe Chris is guilty. The judge, however, seems to be showing Breezy some mercy. He believes 90 days in rehab for anger management would better serve the R&B star and shut down the prosecution.

Nigerian Scammer Gets Arrested For The Murder Of His Australian Lover

28-year-old Orowo Jesse Omokoh, wanted in connection with the death of an Australian woman, Jette Jacobs, and for defrauding her of $90,000 in an online dating scam has been arrested. And according to EFCC, Orowo Jesse Omokoh was arrested on January 28 in Nigeria, without stating where exactly.

The graduate, who attended the University of Ibadan allegedly met the 67 year old Aussie on a dating site and struck a sizzling romantic affair that necessitated him moving to Johannesburg in 2013 to link up with his lover. But 5 days after Omokoh arrived and took up residence with her, Jacob was found dead in her apartment with some of her valuables missing.

After the incident, Omokoh reportedly fled South Africa and returned to Nigeria.

“The South African police, which is investigating the mysterious death, are suspicious that Omokoh has a hand in the demise of Jacobs,” the EFCC said. The organisation, which investigates money-laundering and online scams, said Australian Federal Police informed officers in March that Omokoh had allegedly defrauded Jacobs of $90,000.

Jacobs, a grandmother from Western Australia, reportedly sent tens of thousands of dollars to Nigeria during her four-year “romance” with a man known as “Jesse”, according to Australian media. The 67-year-old is said to have previously met him in Johannesburg in 2010 without incident.

Her body was found on February 9. The EFCC said Omokoh had given “useful” information and “efforts are on to track his accomplices.
